Catering for small private groups, and using a combination of small luxury lodges and tented camps, our safaris are custom designed and often privately guided. We stay off the main tourist trails, and endeavour to show you an unspoiled Africa in an unhurried spirit.
Our Safaris
Tim Trench Safaris operates exceptional safaris, all designed and organized by Caroline and Tim. Drawing on our 30+ years of experience running first class safaris, we work closely with your group to tailor a private itinerary that will ensure your trip is not just a great holiday, but an adventure of a lifetime.A hallmark of our safaris is that they visit wild, out of the way destinations, unspoiled by mass tourism, and we stay in small, personal, boutique camps and lodges that embrace our philosophy of low volume and high quality.Our aim is to maximize the diversity of your experience. Every stop on your safari should contrast strongly with the others, each unique in their character and set in very different landscape and environment, with different wildlife, activities and culture.While all the lodges and camps will offer a smorgasbord of activities, such as day and night game drives, walking, horse, camel, bike, ATV, balloon, Helicopter, boat and of course many different cultural experiences, we can include destinations that specialize in a particular experience, for a deeper and more immersive adventure.
Planning your Safari
There are so many way to go on safari, so many different things to see and do, and so many African countries to visit. With all this choice, we find the best thing is to arrange a phone-call with Tim. He will chat with you about your group, interests, time and budget, and will outline appropriate options, narrowing down the hundreds of possibilities to something more manageable.Big Cats, elephant-centric safaris, a focus on unspoiled culture, the wildebeest migration, a camel safari across remote wilderness, sailing the Indian Ocean in an Arab Dhow, heli camping in inaccessible country, wildlife conservation, extreme birding, canoeing the Okavango Delta, meerkats in the Makgadikgadi, rafting the Victoria falls, gorilla trekking in the impeneterable forest, Chimps in the Mahale Mountains, fishing for giant nile perch in the Jade Sea - and on and on it goes.
Caroline & Tim
A fourth generation Kenyan, Tim has been guiding exceptional safaris for over 30 years all over East, Central and Southern Africa. Caroline joined Tim 25 years ago, and together they ran a very successful luxury mobile safari company. In 2012 they moved with their 2 boys to a small farm on the ocean on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada, where they still live like Africans, and still organize and often guide their tailor made safaris.
